Alejandra Pollak

Alejandra Pollak has served as the Voter Protection Director for the New York State Democratic Committee and the Executive Director of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council (NYDLC) since 2022. She successfully advocated for and now leads New York’s first year-round voter protection program, providing multilingual voting resources and civic engagement programming across all 62 counties. Her work focuses on breaking down silos and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to expand voter access, improve the voting experience, and identify and resolve issues before they impact voters. The program has become a national model, and she is a member of a coalition of election protection professionals advancing year-round infrastructure and funding nationwide.

Before her work in election protection, Alejandra spent a decade leading efforts to build a more just and sustainable fashion industry. She co-founded the New Standard Institute (NSI), a think tank that launched the Act on Fashion Coalition and introduced “The Fashion Act,” a landmark piece of legislation addressing the environmental and labor impacts of the global apparel industry.

Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Canada, Alejandra lives in New York with her husband, two children, and two dachshunds.
